Pushpa 2 Kissik Song: Sreeleela Saved 7 Crores?

Item songs in Sukumar’s films have an altogether different craze. Right from Aa ante Amalapuram to Oo Antava mama, his item songs mostly have been great.

Now, the question on everyone’s mind is whether the item song in Pushpa 2 will match Samantha’s Oo Anatava from Pushpa Part 1.

After considering a lot of actresses including Shraddha Kapoor, ultimately, Sreeleela was selected for the song.

Sreeleela was actually the original choice for the song due to her dancing skills, believing she could match Allu Arjun’s swag and energy.

But since Sreeleela was coming off a string of flops, the team considered other options.

They then thought of Shraddha Kapoor, who reportedly demanded 8 crores for the item song. Despite the heavy price, the producers were willing to pay, seeing it as a good opportunity for Pushpa 2 to get more reach and penetration in the Hindi belts.

However, Sukumar and the team reconsidered, as they felt that Sreeleela would be a better fit for the song despite her recent flops.

In the end, Sukumar decided to go with Sreeleela, offering her 1 crore instead of the 8 crore Shraddha Kapoor had demanded.

The decision saved the producers 7 crores.
