Pushpa 2 Kissik: Too Early to Judge?

The song “Kissik” from Pushpa 2 was released yesterday and is breaking records on YouTube.

It surpassed the 24-hour view count of the song “Dum Masala” from Guntur Kaaram in just 12 hours. This made “Kissik” the most-viewed Telugu lyrical song on YouTube.

Within 18 hours, “Kissik” also overtook “Whistle Podu” from The GOAT, becoming the most-viewed South Indian lyrical song ever.

It reached 25 million views, the fastest for any South Indian song, and by 24 hours, it hit 27 million views with almost 500K likes.

The Hindi version of the song has also caught on with almost 9 Million views in 24 hours.

After listening for the first time, the song was heavily bashed for not meeting the expectations set by the item number ‘Oo Antava’ from Pushpa Part 1. But the number of views tells a different story.

The song is growing on repeated hearings and is expected to catch on in the next few days, with reels and shorts trending on social media. There is a unique vibe to it, and the ‘Debbalu Padathayi’ bit is quite catchy.

If Pushpa 2 clicks with positive word of mouth when it releases on December 5, then this song will travel very far.

No one can predict where this song will go, stop, or what its impact will be in terms of popularity.

Right now, it is too early to judge the song because we don’t know what kind of monster is coming on December 5.
