This is a big pan-India project starring Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone, directed by Atlee. It is supposed to be a high-concept sci-fi fantasy film, with Allu Arjun in a completely new role. A good chunk of the shoot is already done, and earlier plans suggested his part would finish soon. He could then start Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film in the second half of 2026.
That is no longer the case.
Latest industry talk says the film may take another full year to complete. That is a massive delay, and fans are not happy. There are talks that Allu Arjun is not too happy with some portions and is keen on reshoots, which will take a lot of time.
Fans are disappointed that Allu Arjun could be stuck on Raaka for too long. That affects his momentum and pushes back other films. The biggest impact is on his potential project with Lokesh Kanagaraj, a film fans are far more excited about right now.
There is another problem. The first look of Raaka did not create the expected buzz. For a film of this scale, the response was dull and forgettable. That has only increased doubts.
Yes, Atlee delivered a massive hit with Jawan. But handling a sci-fi or fantasy film is a different challenge. Not everyone is convinced he can pull it off at this level.
Because of all this, a section of fans is being very clear. They want Allu Arjun to move on faster and focus on the Lokesh Kanagaraj project, despite Coolie’s failure. In their view, that film has stronger potential, more relatable, and a clearer direction.
Right now, there is no official confirmation about the delay. But if this timeline is real, Raaka risks turning into a long, dragged-out project. That is never a good sign.
