Atlee’s Raaka Timeline Trouble: 2027 Release Possible?

Allu Arjun’s upcoming film Raaka, directed by Atlee, is one of the most talked-about big projects in Indian cinema right now. Even though the film has been in production for some time, there is no clear information about the story or genre.

The shoot is currently progressing at a fast pace. Reports suggest that Allu Arjun is likely to complete his portions by the end of this year, keeping things on track.

However, the bigger challenge lies in post-production. The film is expected to rely heavily on VFX and large-scale visuals, which will take a lot of time. Atlee is said to be planning this phase very carefully, aiming for a release in the second half of 2027.

The scale of the film is huge. Backed by Sun Pictures, the project has a massive budget. The casting itself has created buzz, with names like Deepika Padukone, Janhvi Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Mrunal Thakur involved.

At the same time, there are some real concerns. Handling such a big cast is not easy, and giving everyone proper screen space can be tricky. Deepika recently announced her second pregnancy, and we have to see how this latest development impacts the shooting schedules. More importantly, when a film depends so much on scale and visuals, the story becomes even more important. Without strong content, even star power may not be enough.

After the massive success of Pushpa 2, expectations from Allu Arjun have gone to another level. Fans are expecting something spectacular. Atlee, despite delivering blockbusters like Jawan, has often been trolled for sticking to a familiar formula or copying from other films. This film looks like his attempt to break that image and deliver something bigger and more ambitious.

The film is reportedly being made on a budget of around Rs. 800 crores, with involvement from Hollywood studios. However, the first look that was revealed recently did not fully meet expectations.

It was not bad, but it was not extraordinary either. More importantly, it did not create the kind of buzz people expected. To match the scale and expectations, the makers need to come back with something powerful. A strong teaser or glimpse that creates a real “wow” moment is needed. Sometimes, one solid update is enough to completely change the narrative.

At the same time, it might be better to take time and deliver quality rather than rushing content, especially since the release is still very far away.

In simple terms, Raaka has everything: star power, budget, and ambition. But the first impression has been underwhelming. Now, the pressure is on Atlee and Allu Arjun. Let’s hope the excitement returns stronger and all doubts are laid to rest with the next reveal.
