Radhe Shyam Risks Pan-India BO For TFI

It is official now, the pan-India Rebel Star Prabhas’s Radhe Shyam will hit the screens all over on March 11th. However, the question among fans is whether this is a good date? Well, it is a mixed bag, one where Radhe Shyam benefits in Telugu, but not so in other languages. Given its pan-India projection, it is a risky time to arrive.

When it comes to non-Telugu languages, Radhe Shyam has direct competition in Tamil. Suriya’s latest mass entertainer ET is slated to release on March 10th. As mentioned previously, no other language movies are expected to screen in Karnataka from March 17th, facilitating late Puneeth Rajkumar’s James release.

Coming to the main base (Hindi), besides the Telugu home turf, there is a mass biggie (Bachchan Pandey starring Akshay Kumar) arriving a week after Radhe Shyam’s release. And it will be the case week after week.

In short, barring Telugu states, where Radhe Shyam gets two weeks clean run and first biggie advantage, Radhe Shyam has a lot going against it. The only silver lining is an open week in Hindi. Will that be enough to put solid numbers? Only time will tell.

Radha Krishna Kumar of Jil fame directs Radhe Shyam. The Prabhas and Pooja Hegde starrer is positioned as an epic love story with never seen before visuals. UV Creations produces the movie presented by the Gopikrishna Movies banner. March 11th is the final release date now after all the postponements.
