Rajahmundry rescues Vizag IT firms!

The IT industry of Vishakapatnam is reeling under the pressure of Hudhud Cyclone. The biggest city of Andhra Pradesh is now devoid of Power, Communication and Internet Connectivity making life tough for IT companies with many of them incurring losses of several crores per day. The IT Special Economic Zone at Madhurawada hosts about 50 small and big IT companies but the entire area now resembles an earthquake-hit area.

80% of the IT companies have worked out an alternate solution in this crisis. They have rented office spaces in Rajahmundry, Kakinada and Vijayawada to manage their work for the time being and have resumed their operations temporarily. The government is currently full occupied with rehabilitation work of the common people and has no time to concentrate on SEZs right now. The Cyclone has come as a big blow to Chandrababu’s dreams of making Visakhapatnam the IT capital of the State. It has to be seen how Chandrababu induces morale in the shattered investors’ confidence.
