Rajamouli Accepts He Couldn’t Reach Rajinikanth?

SS Rajamouli’s pan-Indian hit RRR movie’s making documentary, named RRR: Behind and Beyond, is out now on Netflix. In it, Rajamouli’s statement about Rajinikanth’s Muthu movie is now trending on social media.

SS Rajamouli, in the documentary, mentioned, “About three decades back in 1998, Rajinikanth’s Muthu was released in Japan, and a Tamil film that was the highest grosser until then. We hoped that RRR would touch Muthu.”

This has become viral now, and many Rajinikanth fans on social media are sharing this and mentioning that Rajinikanth is not just an actor but also a trendsetter. Rajinikanth’s record in Japan, which was set 25 years ago, was finally beaten by RRR.

RRR became the highest-grossing Indian film in Japan by surpassing Muthu which held the record for more than two decades. But if we consider inflation and market expansion, Muthu can still be considered unbeaten.

After Muthu, Rajinikanth and Shankar were the two big players of Kollywood, who had done wonders in outside territories.

But now, Kollywood seems to have lost its edge, as no directors or actors have yet touched the records set by Rajinikanth and Shankar. Now, other industries are ruling Indian cinema, say the audience.
