No matter what directors like Prashanth Neel, Sandeep Vanga, or recently Kalki 2898 AD director Nag Ashwin collect at the box office, they are far from what director SS Rajamouli’s films provide: an immersive experience that makes everyone call him a master of his craft.
Recently, there was news that Netflix is releasing a biographical documentary on Rajamouli, showcasing how he revolutionized the market with pan-India films, which is now the way forward for any big star film.
When this news broke, it was more Mahesh Babu fans than Rajamouli fans who were thrilled. They believe that their hero will now gain international recognition because his upcoming movie is mentioned in this documentary.
However, in reality, the reach of a documentary like this will be limited. Even if it is watched in the West, viewers will see it as a documentary about the director of RRR, and Mahesh Babu will receive very little to no attention.
