The actor was supposed to shoot in Mysore Palace for his latest film, Lingaa. But despite the best efforts of the movie unit, the palace authorities did not issue permission for them to shoot.
They said the shooting in the palace could obstruct the continuous flow of tourist to the historical monument. However they are allowed to shoot in front of illuminated residential portion of Mysore Palace. On Saturday night a scene on Rajinikanth and Anushka was canned there. The movie unit even used horses for this scene. Mysore is a lucky mascot for Rajinikanth. His earlier blockbusters like Narasimha and Muthu were shot there.The last film which was allowed to shoot inside Mysore Palace was Kannada film Mayura in the year 1975.
