Rajinikanth’s House Under Strict Surveillance

After Rajinikanth‘s speech at 50th Anniversary of Thuglaq magazine followed by his stand that he wasn’t going to apologize saying that he didn’t say anything that didn’t occur, Dravidian groups are spitting fire on the superstar, staging protests and sending threatening messages.

In this scenario, security has been beefed up at his residence and the police deployed personnel from both armed force and city police including regular patrol. The Dravidian groups are angry on Rajini for making comments on EV Ramaswamy, who is popular as Periyar.

For the uninitiated, Rajini said in the above-mentioned magazine’s 50th-anniversary event that in 1971 Periyar led a possession in Salem with nude effigies of Rama and Sita garlanded with footwear. Later, he refused to apologize as he thinks he didn’t say anything wrong.

Naturally, the Dravidian groups are literally angry and one of the groups even approached the High Court to get a police case filed against Rajinikanth. The issue is potentially political and there are pieces of evidence that the Salem incident indeed occurred in 1971.

Rajini’s co-star Kushboo expressed that she was glad that the superstar was standing firm on his ground and didn’t apologise. She further said that everyone has an opinion and one cannot please everyone. True.
