Here is disappointing news for all the fans of Superstar Rajinikanth who wanted to see their favourite star rise to the political challenge coming up. The star has confirmed that he would not be contesting the 2019 elections.

An official press note was released concerning the status of Rajini Makkal Mandram (RMM). The political outfit of Rajinikanth is not contesting the 2019 General Elections, and the fans are free to support any party they wish, it said. The party symbol and Rajini’s image should not be used in any capacity aligning with any party, it also read.

But, there was a subtle mention of what the big issue should be for the people of Tamil Nadu and fans of the Superstar. Whichever party helps in solving the water crisis should be voted to power was the undercurrent message. While the lack of contest has poured water on the fans hopes, the “water” issue has been raised to keep them engaged.
