Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, hit theaters on August 14 and has received mixed responses from audiences and critics.
Before its release, the Coolie team confirmed an eight-week OTT window and assured screenings in North Indian multiplexes. Fans expected the film to stream on OTT platforms only after eight weeks.
However, strong speculation suggests that Coolie may arrive on Amazon Prime after just four weeks in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. The Hindi version, Coolie: The Power House, is expected to follow the original eight-week OTT window.
Although this is not officially confirmed, the news has raised questions among Kollywood audiences about the film’s OTT schedule. Some trackers claim the OTT window remains unchanged, as per the original deal.
Other industry insiders believe the earlier OTT release could be due to Coolie’s average performance at the box office. No official updates have been provided yet, and it remains uncertain if the film will stream on Amazon Prime sooner and how it will be received online.
