Ram Charan in US for a Million – Why It’s Not a Good Idea?

Ram Charan planned to come to the US for the premiere of Bruce Lee. By the time he came the talk of the film was out and his trip was converted into a vacation. Now, once again the star is coming to the US and this time it is confirmed that he would be making it to premieres happening in four different locations.

What’s the main target of all this? Ram Charan has to finally cross the Million dollar mark at the US box office. Is it such a big deal? It is since the star has been unable to break that mark when all of his contemporaries have done multiple times.

If one observes closely, his two decent flicks released at a time when Million dollar collections were big deal and on top of that they clashed with Mahesh Babu’s films. Rest of the films released mid-week with poor planning and release. And when everything was in a place like it did for Bruce Lee, the movie was abysmal.

Today, Million dollars is not a big deal for a minimally “liked” movie of a star. When a disaster movie like Bruce Lee collects over $ 600K would it be difficult to break the Million mark when the talk is good? It surely wouldn’t be impossible.

So, when we keep this in mind it feels absolutely unnecessary that he is coming to premieres. While it doesn’t bring any added advantage it adds immense pressure. Right from the premiere numbers to the first day, weekend and final number, everything will be under scanner. It makes one think is the trip necessary? Maybe over the weekend or when the film actually crosses the milestone, a trip would have been beneficial. What do you think?
