RC17 Launch: Can Sukumar Break His Problematic Habit?

Ram Charan Sukumar RC17 Dasara Launch and Sankranthi 2028 Release Buzz

Ram Charan fans have plenty of reasons to be frustrated with Peddi. The film had all the ingredients for a massive pan-India success, but the final result fell well short of those expectations.

Peddi managed to bring in some money in parts of Telugu states, but the film failed to make the expected impact on a pan-India level and overseas. Except for Charan’s performance, everything else didn’t match the expectations.

But that chapter is over. The next film Ram Charan is doing with Sukumar under Mythri Movie Makers is set to have its formal opening during the Dasara period. A date between October 16 and 20 is being considered, and the makers are expected to finalize the exact day before informing the media.

The bigger question now is how long Sukumar will take to make the film, tentatively titled RC17.

After the lengthy production of Pushpa, Sukumar is reportedly keen on following a Rangasthalam-style working model this time. The idea is apparently to avoid stretching the project for years and complete it within a much more controlled schedule.

The script is said to be locked, with Sukumar personally checking the material and planning the film in detail before taking it to the sets. That could be excellent news for Charan.

The gap between his films has become a growing concern. After RRR, a disastrous film like Game Changer took two years of his prime age. Peddi itself consumed nearly two years.

Sukumar and his team are reportedly exploring whether the shoot can be completed in 12 months from now. Whether that target is actually achievable remains to be seen, especially considering Sukumar’s reputation for taking his time to perfect every detail.

But if the director can combine his usual attention to detail with a faster production schedule, fans can see Charan on the big screen by Sankranthi 2028.

For now, the first big update is the opening. The bigger excitement will begin once the film goes on floors.
