Ram Charan has revealed that he will undergo surgery shortly after the release of Peddi, shedding light on the physical challenges he faced while shooting the ambitious sports drama. During a promotional interview for the Hindi market, the actor spoke about an injury he sustained while filming the wrestling portions of the movie.
According to Charan, he trained and performed with real wrestlers for several sequences. During one such session, a heavy impact reportedly caused a cartilage tear in his hand and also damaged a bone. The actor has been seen wearing wrist-support braces during recent promotional events, leading to speculation about his condition.
Despite doctors reportedly advising immediate surgery, Ram Charan chose to postpone the procedure until after Peddi completes its theatrical release on June 4. The decision underlines the actor’s commitment to the film, which is being positioned as one of the biggest releases of his career.
The revelation has worried fans, who are expressing concern about his health, while others have praised his dedication and willingness to push through pain to complete the film and take part in promotions. Given the physically demanding nature of Peddi, which features wrestling, cricket, and other sports elements, the injury also highlights the effort that went into preparing for the role.
At the same time, the film itself carries enormous pressure. Following the disappointing box-office performances of Acharya and Game Changer, Peddi is an extremely crucial project for Ram Charan. After this, he may not have another major release for nearly two years.
Box-office expectations are particularly high in the Telugu states, where the film has generated strong buzz.
However, the situation is very different in the Hindi market. While Peddi is being released on a large scale across North India, the pre-release buzz remains weak as of now. The makers are hoping that positive word of mouth and strong content will help the film grow beyond its opening weekend.
Fans hope Ram Charan’s efforts do not go to waste and that Peddi emerges as a big success across all markets.
