Ram Pothineni’s Andhra King Taluka is set for its US premieres on Wednesday and Ram is in the US to promote the film extensively for the first time. Ram is a hero with several hits and flops under his belt, but he has yet to deliver a $1 million film in the US. This might be why he recognized the film’s potential and decided to camp in the US to push its promotions.
By the time Andhra King Taluka first premieres happen on Wednesday, pre-sales are expected to be around $100K or below. This means the first audience response needs to be overwhelmingly positive.
Even then, reaching the $1 million mark will require the film to perform strongly post-premieres, needing an additional $900K from post premieres collections. While achieving this is not impossible, average content won’t suffice. The film must be exceptionally strong and word of mouth needs to amplify rapidly to reach those numbers.
Though the target is ambitious, it is achievable, provided the content resonates well. The success will ultimately depend on how debutant director Mahesh Babu Pachigolla has crafted the film.
