Ram Vs Vishal – Who Has the Edge?

This week, Tollywood has two releases. One is a straight Telugu film ‘Hello Guru Prema Kosame‘ (HGPK) featuring Ram, Prakash Raj and Anupama Parameshwaran in the lead. The other one is Vishal’s sequel ‘Pandem Kodi 2’, the sequel for his super hit movie with the same title. ‘Pandem Kodi 2’ is coming with some past branding though not very huge.

The first part has worked really well and was one of those movies that earned a set of target mass audiences for Vishal in the Telugu States. The target audiences are clear for the sequel as well. On the other side, Ram’s movie belongs to a different genre, a feel-good romantic entertainer that has a different set of target audiences.

Ram film is backed by none other than Dil Raju who can ensure a maximum number of theatres for HGPK as long as the movie delivers. A positive word of mouth can do wonders for Ram’s movie. Anyway, that’s the crucial part of the business to get the number of screens for the release and then maintain the same. So, that’s an edge for Ram’s movie though both the movies look like having equal chances of entertaining only if they can entertain.
