500 Cr Film: Keeravani Better Than Hans Zimmer?

For those who don’t already know about Hans Zimmer, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest ever music composers in world cinema. He has scored the music for epic blockbusters like Interstellar, Gladiator, and Dune: Part 1, among others.

Now, the latest buzz on social media is that Hans Zimmer has come on board for the Indian action epic, Ramayan which is proposed to be made on a budget in excess of Rs 500 crore. Apparently, this film will have its music composed by Zimmer and AR Rahman, both being Oscar winners.

This news has now led to a comment on social media that MM Keeravani is a better option than both Zimmer and AR Rahman for this particular project – Ramayan.

Ramayan is a Hindu mythological epic and it needs certain expertise to score the mythological touch soundtrack for this film. Both Zimmer and Rahman are world-class talents and there is no doubting their prowess but when we are talking specifically about Ramayan, they might not pack the mythological zest that is needed.

At the same time, Keeravani is a master of creating immersive soundtracks, as was seen in the case of Baahubali and RRR. Particularly in Baahubali, his elevation score and emotionally stirring BGM were of other-worldly quality. This is the kind of mythological and folklore-inclined musical work that is needed for Ramayan.

Moreover, Keeravani has experience of working on such films, obviously with smaller making values, like Annamayya and Ramadasu. His mythological grip will also be superior. So many netizens are tipping him to be the better option than Zimmer and Rahman for Ramayan.
