Ramayana Is A Story That Lives Within Us: Ranbir

The pre-release event of Ramayana was held in Hyderabad, where a large crowd gathered for the upcoming film. During the event, the film’s team shared their thoughts and experiences.

For Ranbir Kapoor, the film represents a personal journey rather than just another career milestone. Speaking about portraying Prabhu Shri Ram, the actor reflected on the responsibility of playing a character who holds a special place in the hearts of millions. “Some stories are not just told, they live deeply within us. Ramayana is one such story.”

He explained that playing Lord Rama had made him reflect on the values of courage, compassion, forgiveness, and gratitude. He also spoke about how the epic’s teachings could influence everyday relationships and encourage people to become better human beings. “I hope you guys just don’t see a movie, I hope you can feel something.”

Ranbir expressed hope that the film would reconnect audiences with the stories narrated by their grandparents and the values passed down by their parents. His remarks highlighted how the Ramayana continues to influence generations.

The actor also acknowledged the people who made the project possible. He spoke about producer Namit Malhotra, describing him as a childhood friend and elder brother whose ambition and hard work had helped bring the project to life. He also expressed confidence in director Nitesh Tiwari and his ability to handle the film.

Ranbir appreciated Ravi’s talent and spoke about the brotherly bond they had developed while working together. He praised Sai Pallavi for bringing dignity and grace to Sita’s character and encouraged audiences to look forward to Rakul’s performance.

He also acknowledged Yash’s dedication, stating, “Honestly, I haven’t seen any individual work as hard as Yash. There is nobody like him and there will be nobody like him.”

Yash highlighted how Telugu films such as Baahubali and RRR had demonstrated the potential of Indian storytelling to reach international audiences. He revealed that Namit Malhotra’s ambition to take Indian cinema to a wider audience was a key reason behind his decision to join Ramayana as Ravana and as a producing partner.

He recalled that Namit wanted to contribute something meaningful to Indian cinema despite already having professional success and international recognition. “That is why I agreed to play Ravana and become a producing partner.”

Yash also acknowledged director Nitesh Tiwari’s creative approach, particularly his efforts to balance the divinity of Lord Rama with the darker dimensions of Ravana.

Yash also appealed to audiences to approach the film with an open mind rather than focusing entirely on minor technical shortcomings. “No film can be perfect, and constructive criticism is always welcome,” he said, adding that filmmakers attempting projects on this scale should receive encouragement alongside constructive feedback.
