Ramayana overseas box office target
Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana Part 1 overseas box office expectations are equally huge. According to industry reports, the film’s overseas marketing and promotional budget, reportedly approved by Prime Focus and Sony, stands at a staggering $10 million. This is said to be the highest overseas promotional budget ever allocated for an Indian film.
The expectations are equally massive. According to the latest trade buzz, the breakeven target overseas is at least $65 million gross, including $30 million from North America. Anything below these figures is likely to be considered a disappointment.
To understand the scale of these expectations, Dhurandhar 2 could have grossed around $60-65 million overseas had it received a release in the Gulf markets.
In other words, Ramayana is expected to deliver overseas numbers comparable to a huge blockbuster like Dhurandhar 2.
The challenge is enormous. With a reported $65 million overseas target, the international market will be just as important as the domestic box office. The real test is whether Ramayana can convert its scale, star power and massive global promotional campaign into record-breaking theatrical collections.
