Rana’s Reason for Rejecting Multi-Starrer with Venky

This might seem like stupidity when we superficially come to know about the fact that Rana rejected a multi-starrer with his uncle Venky. But, we understand that he completely made sense when he gave out the reason for rejecting the offer.

Rana was indeed approached for the remake of super hit Tamil movie ‘Vikram Vedha‘ starring Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathy in the lead roles. For Tamil audiences, the connection is obvious as they can relate to a port city, the gangs and smugglers etc.

In Hyderabad, it becomes absolutely unrelatable as it is not a port city or even Vizag is basically a Naval base. Though it is a big hit in Tamil, it might not cater to the tastes of Telugu audiences reasons Rana Daggubati in a recent interview. We agree with him completely.

Not all movies can be remade into other languages. The strong local flavor of some regional language films need not connect to the audiences of a different language.
