Ravi Teja has delivered more than six flops in a row except ‘Dhamaka’ (Mass Jathara, Mr. Bachchan, Eagle, Tiger Nageswara Rao, Ravanasura, Ramarao on Duty, Khiladi) and has openly admitted that he is confused about what the audience expects from him. Looking at Allari Naresh, it feels like he is in a similar phase. Known primarily as a comedy hero, he has been trying to shift toward intense roles, but the attempts have not clicked.
Naresh has also faced five back to back flops (Bachchala Malli, Aa Okati Adakku, Naa Saami Ranga, Ugram, Itlu Maredumilli Prajaneekam), and his next film, 12A Railway Colony releases this Friday. Both actors strangely share the same pattern of repeated flops and the same confusion about what direction to take and where they will find audience acceptance.
Ravi Teja feels his mass experiments did not work, while Naresh feels his shift from comedy to serious roles has not connected.
This Friday will be crucial. If 12A Railway Colony works, it could give Naresh much needed relief. If it does not, he will end up with a double hat trick of flops, just like Ravi Teja.
