Bengal Tiger is local not a police story

Action thriller or comedy entertainer with backdrop of Bihar or Kolkata is what we hear from the film makers regarding their films. Of course, the title of some films also gives away the backdrop. But it is not the case for Ravi Teja’s forthcoming release ‘Bengal Tiger’. Going by the title, one would think that the premise of the story might be set up in Kolkata.

However the director of the movie Sampath Nandi tells that it isn’t a story set up in the backdrop of Kolkata or not a police story. The film is a total local story and is a thorough entertainer with all the required spices like comedy, sentiment, action and family relationships. Bengal Tiger has got nothing connected to Bengal.

But the characterisation of Ravi Teja is such that it reflects the royal Bengal Tiger. The connection is with the fearless attitude of Bengal Tiger, not its region. Sampath says he is excited and confident but not anxious, a few days ahead of release. Both Sampath and Ravi Teja need a decent hit at this point of time.
