Renu Desai Talks About Her 14-Year Struggle After Separation from Pawan Kalyan
Fourteen years after her separation from Pawan Kalyan, Renu Desai is still struggling to escape the shadow of her past relationship. Despite pursuing different interests and building her own identity, she feels that a section of society continues to judge her primarily as Pawan Kalyan’s former wife.
Speaking on the Visual Talks podcast, Renu Desai made an emotional reference to Lord Rama’s 14-year exile and questioned when her own ordeal would come to an end. She expressed frustration over how people continue to bring up her past instead of recognising her individual journey.
Renu also spoke about her work after the separation, including producing and directing films, participating in a dance reality show, writing poetry and continuing her career. However, she feels that these achievements often take a back seat whenever discussions about her arise.
The criticism reportedly extends to her social media activity, including her efforts to help stray animals.
Her latest comments raise a larger question about why a woman’s identity continues to be linked to a marriage that ended years ago. For Renu, the 14-year exile is not about a relationship anymore, but about the struggle to be recognised for who she is today.
