Republic – A Success Important In Many Ways

Sai Dharam Tej’s Republic is releasing in a few hours from now. But things aren’t going smoothly for the film and those involved with it. Sai Dharam Tej, who met with an accident on the 10th of this month is still recovering from the injuries he sustained following the accident and could not promote the film.

Pawan Kalyan, who attended the pre-release event sparked a verbal confrontation by launching a scathing attack on the YCP government. This controversial verbal exchange is centred around Pawan and the AP government. It didn’t help the film’s promotions much.

As for the promotional material, Republic is a political thriller with a serious narrative. There aren’t too many songs in the film. So, the makers couldn’t roll out any chartbuster audio singles.

The director of Republic, Deva Katta scored a big hit with his debut film Prasthanam but couldn’t taste success with any of his subsequent films.

In his interviews, Deva Katta seemed confident about the film. He says Republic will be his comeback film.

If Deva Katta really delivers a winning political thriller with Republic it would provide some much needed respite to Sai Dharam Tej. It would also come as a big boost to Tollywood, which was severely affected due to the Covid second wave.
