Rickshaw walas back in Hyderabad

Telangana government is planning to reintroduce Rickshaws in Hyderabad. These are e-Rickshaws which means electric Rickshaws which run on batteries. These type of Rickshaws are very popular in China and are also used in Delhi.

Center had proposed these e-Rickshaws as a part of its pollution control measures. Telangana government is also planning to introduce them in Hyderabad to put a check to increasing pollution.

Three companies reportedly came forward to manufacture and supply these e-Rickshaws. The state government is also planning to issue these Rickshaws on subsidy mainly to discourage the usage of autos which contribute more for the pollution.
