Rishab Shetty Vs Rukmini Vasanth: What Went So Wrong?

Rishab Shetty has sparked fresh controversy after unfollowing key collaborators from the Kantara franchise on Instagram. The development has led to speculation about a possible fallout in the Kannada film industry.

Reports suggest that around March 19, 2026, Rishab Shetty unfollowed Hombale Films and the official Kantara page. These accounts are closely linked to the 2022 hit Kantara and its 2025 sequel.

Ahead of the Ugadi festival on March 21, the actor shared a cryptic post. The message read “Adhyaya 2 Elinda Shuru,” which translates to “Chapter Two Begins from Here.”

This post further fueled speculation about a shift in his professional journey. Industry insiders began discussing possible creative and financial differences between Rishab Shetty and Hombale Films.

A report by Deccan Herald claimed that Hombale Films proposed another project similar to Kantara. This included either a third installment or a related thriller concept.

However, Rishab Shetty reportedly declined the offer. Instead, he is said to be collaborating with Mythri Movie Makers for a project titled Hanuman.

Adding to the buzz, reports on March 27, 2025, claimed that he unfollowed actors Raj B. Shetty and Rukmini Vasanth. Both actors have previously worked with him on Kantara.

Social media reactions have been mixed, with fans offering different interpretations. Some believe the unfollowing activity could be linked to PR management changes.

Others pointed out that Rishab Shetty still follows Hombale owner Vijay Kiragandur. This has led to speculation that the professional relationship may still be intact.

So far, neither Rishab Shetty nor Hombale Films has issued an official statement. The situation continues to remain unclear, keeping fans curious about what lies ahead.
