Round 1: Kaththi Wins Over Khaidi No 150

Khaidi No 150 is the comeback film of Megastar Chiranjeevi after nearly a decade. There are huge expectations on it but since it is also a remake, there are alternatively huge pressure on it to outdo the original. So how has Khaidi No 150 fared in the first round of First Look and Motion Poster?

We have to say it’s overwhelmingly one sided in round one. Khaidi No 150 is fine as far as first look poster goes, Chiranjeevi’s intensity in the eyes convey the emotion but when it comes to motion poster both are not in the same league at all.

Kaththi’s motion poster was a sensation from the moment it arrived. Putting the plagiarism issue aside, the music in the motion poster was an instant blockbuster and took the overall feel of the tease to a new level. In contrast, motion poster of Khaidi No 150 is just about okay. Even the bgm, ignoring the ‘boss is back’ chant is alright but in terms of the impact it is very poor to put it politely.

For any regular commercial film, no one would have bothered with Devi Sri Prasad and his bgm but as this is the eagerly awaited comeback film and that too a remake, comparisons and expectations are going to be massive. The beginning is disappointing, let’s hope what follows next gets better.
