
In his recent interview, Sudeep said “Hindi is no more the national language. Bollywood is making pan-India films today but they are struggling to find audience in Telugu and Tamil. Our South Indian films are going everywhere.”
Sudeep’s comment has irked RRR star Ajay Devgan as he tweeted “Kiccha Sudeep my brother, According to you if Hindi is not our national language then why do you release your mother tongue movies by dubbing them in Hindi? Hindi was, is and always will be our mother tongue and national language Jan Gan Man.”
Netizens are now commenting that firstly, it isn’t right on Sudeep’s part to belittle Bollywood. If South Indian films are doing well in Hindi, he should appreciate the audience rather than humiliate Hindi film industry. As for Ajay Devgan, he should have ignored Sudeep’s comment at a time when Hindi imposition is a burning political topic across India.
