RRR: Never Before Announcement Ever

RRR is having huge money riding on it considering the canvas and the names it has associated with it. Pen Studios owned by Jayantilal Gada has made a massive announcement on RRR digital and satellite rights today.

In the Twitter video they have unveiled who has bagged what and it also showcased the reach RRR has with the film getting released in some of the foreigh languages which is massive for Indian cinema. While it was reported a few days back that Zee Group has closed the deal bagging the digital and satellite rights, here comes the twist.

Zee Group hasn’t walked away owning the rights completely.Pen Studios in its major announcement revealed the clear-cut data according to which Zee5 walked away with the digital rights in all South languages – Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada languages while Netflix has swept its hand on the Hindi rights. On the other side, OTT platform Netflix has bagged the digital rights in the foreign languages – English, Portuguese, Korean, Turkish, and Spanish.

On the other side, Satellite rights have been bought by Star Group for Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada, Malayalam rights have been bagged by Asianet, while Zee Cinema has Hindi rights. Meanwhile, despite such massive rights being taken away, Pen Studios will be releasing the Hindi theatrical rights.

RRR is scheduled for release on October 13. While the COVID second wave has played spoilsport, Rajamouli who has done a major chunk of shooting is hopeful to release the film as decided.
