RTC Unions resort to contempt of Court!

The ongoing RTC Strike is creating new issues as the strike goes in to eighth day. The RTC Employees Union clarified to the court that they can not call off the strike as it would ease pressure on the government. The high court was serious on this contempt of court and issued Show cause notices to the unions.

The court in the show cause notices asked the unions to respond why their action should not be considered as contempt of court. The court also asked the corporation to take action on the unions.

It also asked the corporation and the government to make alternative arrangements for passengers. The court clarified that criminal cases will be filed if the unions try to stop buses. The next hearing of this case will be taken up in June after the summer holidays to the court.
