Rudrama Devi remains an enigma

In a recent talk with the media, actress Anushka Shetty opened up about her career and her films that are on the way. Appearing in both Tamil as well as Tollywood films, Shetty’s latest films has her playing a powerful female character of Rani Rudrama Devi who was a ruler of the Kakatiya dynasty. Talking about the film, Anushka said, “I am very excited. We have read about her in textbooks, but not much is known about her. While Jhansi’s Lakshmi Bai has captured popular imagination with films and literature on her, Rudrama Devi remains an enigma.”

Further talking about her recent roles focused on powerful female characters, Anushka offered, “I’m honoured that such interesting scripts have been coming my way. The best part is that each role is completely different from the other. I’m glad I’m getting to do interesting films.”
