Nani’s film Ante Sundaraniki, initially considered a disaster, impressed a section of the audience after its OTT release. However, many blamed director Vivek Athreya for the film’s excessive length of 2 hours and 56 minutes, nearly 3 hours.
Vivek Athreya never admitted his mistake post-release and bluntly defended his decision to keep the excessive length.
Now, the same director and actor are teaming up again for Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, and, surprisingly, they are repeating the same runtime issue. Saripodhaa Sanivaaram comes with a lengthy runtime of 2 hours and 50 minutes, once again nearing the 3-hour mark.
This has sparked discussions online about why the director needs 3 hours for a story where the lead character holds his anger all week and fights on Saturday. Many fear that the director and Nani are repeating the same mistake that cost them dearly with Ante Sundaraniki.
However, one must understand that each film is different, and we should wait until its release before drawing any conclusions.
If the director repeats the same mistake, there won’t be any excuses this time, and he will be heavily criticized. But if it’s not the case, he will be praised for his bold move.
