Trailer Talk: Revealing The Content And Grandness

Saaho touted to be the biggest action entertainer of the year has its task cut out due to the competition. A theatrical trailer at this time is very critical as it will be a make or break deal for the movie lovers outside the Telugu film industry.

One look at the trailer, and it definitely means business. Right from the posters to the teaser, all the concentration has been on visuals, and we got no clue of the story. Finally, here it is. Rebel Star Prabhas plays an undercover cop, according to the trailer, and there is a villain who is a thief. It is the Dhoom movie zone with much more masala thrown in in the form of various villains and their backdrops, and dens.

We also get a glimpse of a lot of action which looks way over the top but trying to be grungy and gritty at the same time. Prabhas looks much better here compared to any publicity visual so far. A couple of dialogues given too are superb and instantly connect with the fans.

The downside with films like these is too much style over substance. In that case, it would become a tiring watch on screen. One hopes that is not the case here as a lot is riding on it. Overall, the trailer gives the impression of a popcorn masala flick on a massive scale, the likes of which have been missing in a long time.
