The clash between Shah Rukh Khan’s “Dunki” and Prabhas’ “Salaar” at the box office has ignited not only ugly fan wars but also controversies.
Allegations surfaced about Hombale Films, the makers of “Salaar,” removing box office-related posts on social media, intensifying the competition between fan groups.
The latest controversy revolves around false information regarding the OTT release dates of both films.
A viral poster claimed that “Salaar” would start streaming on Netflix from January 12 as a Sankranthi gift, while another poster suggested “Dunki” would be available on Jio Cinema from January 1.
However, investigations revealed that both pieces of news were untrue. “Salaar” is not set for an OTT premiere in January, and “Dunki” will make its OTT debut eight weeks after its theatrical release.
The misinformation stemmed from Prabhas’ anti-fans sharing a fake poster for “Salaar” on January 12, prompting supporters of Prabhas to retaliate with a similarly fake and edited poster for “Dunki.”
