Prabhas’ film, ‘Salaar,’ clashed with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ during the Christmas season and dealt a significant blow to its collections in the Northern regions. This clash proved that well-crafted pan-India films from the Telugu industry can capture lucrative national holiday release dates and make huge impact even while clashing with Bollywood biggies.
Now, NTR’s adventure drama ‘Devara: Part 1’ is poised for a clash with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ during the Eid festival on April 5.
Additionally, ‘Pushpa 2’ is set to challenge Bollywood’s major franchise film, ‘Singham Again,’ on Independence Day.
The latest speculations surrounding the release date of Ram Charan’s upcoming film, ‘Game Changer,’ are causing quite a stir in Bollywood circles. Dil Raju is contemplating releasing ‘Game Changer,’ directed by Shankar, either during the Dussehra or Gandhi Jayanti weekend. Numerous Bollywood heavyweights are eyeing those release dates, particularly for Akshay Kumar’s high-octane action movie, ‘Skyforce.’
The clash between ‘Salaar’ and ‘Dunki’ has instilled confidence in South film producers and directors, prompting them to actively go for clashes and outperform Bollywood films in their own Hindi regions.
If ‘Salaar’ could impact Shah Rukh Khan’s film, then the films of Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, and other Bollywood actors may not be a big deal for pan-India Telugu films.
