Samantha overtakes Pawan and Mahesh

Undisputedly, Samantha is the number one heroine in Tollywood at present. However the number one position amongst heroes is always disputed because fans of top heroes don’t accept other heroes as being number one. So in case of heroes, a diplomatic take ‘one of the top heroes’ is commonly used to avoid unnecessary conflict.

Whatsoever, Indian Cinema is a male dominated one and the range of the heroes is always very higher than the heroines. The business on a movie is done on the saleability factor of a hero as a crowd puller. Heroines mostly remain as the additional attractions. Despite this Samantha overtook the two top heroes of Tollywood.

Till date none of the big heroes films could enter the 100 crore club though Pawan’s ‘Attarintiki Daaredi’ came to its viscinity. But Samantha’s latest Tamil film ‘Kaththi’ had crossed the 100 crore mark within a few days of its release. This will remain a record for Samantha in her filmy career overtaking Pawan and Mahesh and entering the 100 crore club before them.
