Prabhas is at the pinnacle point of his career with Salaar and Kakli setting the box office shaking. The discussion is now about the next outing from the big man which has a strong precedent to follow.
Though Prabhas’s immediate next release might be the film with Maruthi, this isn’t a mainstream pan Indian outing. It is Spirit with Sandeep Reddy Vanga that is going to be Prabhas’s next big work.
Vanga himself is at the pinnacle point of his career with Kabir Singh and Animal. He has a lot riding on Spirit.
Considering the boost Kalki is giving to Prabhas in the Hindi belt if we add the Vanga factor to the equation, Spirit must create a bloodbath in the Hindi belt. In Telugu, the chances are anyway bright as ever.
The challenge for Vanga though will be to project a mainstream superstar in his imagination of a protagonist which is usually unconventional.
With Vijay Deverakonda and Ranbir, he could take creative freedom, but that can’t be the case with Prabhas. He is already a larger-than-life star and has a strong precedent.
With Kalki heading for a possible Rs 1000 crore mark at the box office. The expectation will be such that Vanga also must deliver a 1000-crore film with Prabhas. He came ever so close to the mark with Animal but couldn’t cross the line. He must be aiming the barrel at the coveted box office accreditation with Spirit.
Kalki has directly spiked the image and box office prospects of Prabhas and the onus is now on Vanga to carry forward the same, while at the same time, maintaining his style of intense storytelling.
