Sankranthi Heroes: Winners & Losers

The Sankranthi dust has settled, and HanuMan has unanimously clinched victory in the clash of films. The film stands tall as one of the epic blockbusters in recent memory, leaving producers and distributors laughing their way to the bank.

On the flip side, Guntur Kaaram is treading the path of mediocrity, projecting itself as an average performer at the box office. Despite its mixed reception, Naa Saami Ranga is resiliently holding its ground in B and C centers, positioning itself for a potential success story in the days to come. Meanwhile, Saindhav is unfortunately etched in the annals of recent cinema as a huge disaster, a colossal misfire that has left everyone involved reeling.

Coming to the heroes Mahesh Babu’s brand value is intact and he has come out of Guntur Kaaram without any scratch. His next film with SS Rajamouli is going to be one of the biggest Indian films ever and with such a film in the lineup the fate of Guntur Kaaram hardly matters or affects Mahesh Babu’s standing.

Nagarjuna can finally breathe a sigh of relief with Naa Saami Ranga, a film that has salvaged his waning career. While it may not be the triumphant comeback akin to Rajinikanth’s Jailer, SRK’s Pathaan, or Kamal Haasan’s Vikram, it marks the end of Nag’s box office dry spell. Despite not being a huge blockbuster, it has injected much-needed confidence into Nagarjuna for his upcoming films.

Despite Saindhav turning out to be a fiasco, Venkatesh remains unscathed. His performance in the film is commendable, and the goodwill he enjoys among family audiences remains untarnished. Whenever he comes up with a decent film full of comedy and emotions, audiences are eager to embrace it wholeheartedly.

Teja Sajja emerges as the surprise winner of Sankranthi, standing tall against everyone, including superstars like Mahesh Babu. His triumph in toppling much-anticipated releases was a shocker. HanuMan has undeniably turned out to be a landmark, turning point, and milestone in his career.

From now on, he needs to be careful about the projects and roles he picks because people will always compare them to HanuMan. To build a lasting career, he has to choose movies that will build reputation and personal branding. The film has given him incredible popularity, and now it’s up to him to make the most of it.
