The Sankranti festival season is almost here, and you are set to welcome two major films, Raja Saab and Jana Nayagan. These Telugu and Tamil releases are scheduled to arrive in theatres on January 9.
On paper, this looks like a big cross-language clash. You have stars like Prabhas and Thalapathy Vijay leading the films. Yet, when you look at ticket counters, there is hardly any buzz around this face-off.
Usually, a Telugu and Tamil clash sparks loud debates. You see arguments over theatre allocation, opening numbers, and box office dominance well before release day.
This time, that chatter is missing. You are seeing Raja Saab and Jana Nayagan treated as separate films rather than rivals fighting for the same space.
You may remember how Varasudu clashing with Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya dominated social media. Theatre counts, content quality, and collections were debated nonstop during that Sankranti season.
Compared to that, this clash feels muted. You could even call it one of the weakest Sankranti clashes in terms of discussion and rivalry.
Still, the bigger picture looks different. When it comes to revenue, you are likely heading into a strong festive season with multiple films designed to draw crowds during Sankranti.
