Trailer Talk: Routine Action Works- Regular Comedy Holds It Back

The theatrical trailer of Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Sarileru Neekevvaru is out. After a promising teaser, we have to say the trailer is a bit of mixed bag.

There are three aspects to the whole thing. They are the basic storyline, the entertainment and the action. The first aspect is alright, considering a big star vehicle and the kind of stories we are used to watching routinely.

It is the second and third angles that bring mixed emotions. The comedy, which is a crucial aspect in the whole narrative according to the maker’s looks forced from the trailer itself. The “Never Beforuu Never Afteruu” buzz word isn’t working, at least in the trailer. It might be a different case when seen as part of the movie, though.

And finally, the action, however routine it seems, looks lively due to the active body language of Superstar Mahesh Babu. It is something that is made for fans to go crazy, and the purpose seems to be achieved. The glimpse of ‘mass’ song also adds to the pleasure of the fans.

Overall, the trailer is perfectly cut highlighting all the elements, but the trump card – the entertainment, has missed its mark slightly. All other elements are fan-pleasing and alright.

Check out the trailer below. Rashmika Mandanna is paired up with Superstar Mahesh Babu in the movie. Anil Ravipudi directs the mass entertainer with Mahesh Babu’s intense touch. Sarileru Neekevvaru hits screens worldwide in a record number of theatres on January 11th, 2020 for the Sankranthi festival.
