Saripodhaa: Nani Takes a Chance!

Nani has placed a big gamble on his “Ante Sundaraniki” director, Vivek Athreya, by giving him another film so soon. This is not common in an industry that thrives on combination hype and sentiment.

Not only that, but Nani has also opted for a Thursday release during a non-holiday week, which is also uncommon.

When you choose a Thursday release, the movie needs to carry excellent buzz, or you must be very confident in your content. We will soon know how the talk emerges from the early U.S. premieres at noon.

The U.S. premieres have gotten off to a good start. Considering the Wednesday premieres, the pre-sales hit $350K (including both the U.S. and Canada). If the early noon premieres receive positive feedback, the sales could see an instant boost.

In the end, “Saripodhaa Sanivaaram” is testing a couple of uncommon scenarios, banking on the confidence of its makers.
