Serious Concern: Ban on cuss words in Telugu

While the ban on cuss words issued by Central Board of Film Certification in Bollywood is learnt to have been put on hold, here is another news that a list of thirty cuss words in Telugu has been prepared to be banned in Telugu movies. Actually this list was already prepared in 2003 and circulated among the film makers.

Though some highly objectionable cuss words which disrespect women are not allowed by the Board during a film’s certification, some of them pass through as the board itself didn’t take serious note of these cuss words. Hence this list of cuss words to be banned by the film makers is recirculated by CBFC in regional languages.

Most of these cuss words have either double meaning or else highly abusive towards women but easily pass through censor and in many films we have seen actors using them like catch words like in the case of ‘nee amma’, ‘bongu’, ‘bokka’ and many others which can’t be even mentioned in any decent text. Hope CBFC tries to implement this ban for sure.
