Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first child, with the due date expected towards the end of September.
The couple, who married in 2018, shared the joyful news of Deepika’s pregnancy in February through an Instagram post. Reports indicate that Deepika will likely give birth in Mumbai.
Sources close to the couple have revealed that they are busy preparing for their baby’s arrival and that the delivery is expected on September 28 at a hospital in South Bombay. Deepika, who is currently on a break from work, is enjoying this special time as she prepares for motherhood.
However, what should have been a joyous occasion has been marred by some media outlets engaging in low-quality journalism.
They have highlighted the coincidence that Deepika’s due date might coincide with her ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor’s birthday (September 28).
Deepika and Ranbir were in a relationship from 2008 to 2010, but fans and the public alike feel that this chapter in their lives should be left in the past.
Social media users have criticized these news reports, calling out the unnecessary connection being made. Deepika’s fans have expressed their frustration, urging Ranbir Kapoor’s PR team to move on, as Deepika has long since moved forward, achieving great success in her career.
Neither Deepika nor Ranbir should be dragged into such tasteless speculations, especially given how much time has passed since their relationship ended.
Deepika reportedly plans to resume her film career in 2025, after taking a maternity leave that will last until March. She is expected to dive back into work with the sequel of Kalki, alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Prabhas.
