Biker OTT Date: Can Sharwanand Bounce Back on Netflix?

Sharwanand’s Biker, after completing its theatrical run, is now gearing up for its OTT release. Directed by Abhilash Reddy, the film opened to a decent response but failed to translate that into box office numbers, ultimately ending up as a loss-making venture.

Despite carrying some expectations, especially after Sharwanand’s earlier hit Nari Nari Naduma Murari, Biker could not sustain momentum in theatres. The film also featured veteran actor Rajasekhar in a crucial role, adding weight to the narrative. Sharwanand reportedly underwent a major physical transformation for the role, losing nearly 20 kilos, which drew appreciation from viewers and critics. However, strong effort alone could not overcome the film’s flaws.

At the same time, the film did not face harsh backlash or trolling. Audiences acknowledged the sincerity of the attempt, even though they did not turn up in large numbers at the box office. The film’s performance did not hurt Sharwanand’s credibility much.

Now, Biker is entering its second phase through digital release. The film’s streaming rights have been acquired by Netflix, and reports suggest it will premiere on May 1, although official confirmation is still awaited. With music composed by Ghibran and produced by UV Creations, the film was technically well made.

The focus now shifts to its OTT performance. There is a possibility that Biker could find a wider audience on streaming platforms, where some films receive better appreciation.

Will Biker find a second life on Netflix? Will it become one of those films that people watch on OTT and regret missing in theatres? Whether hashtags like “TFI Failed Here” resurface or fade will depend on audience response. If Biker gets a decent reception on OTT, Sharwanand will only strengthen his goodwill.
