Kammula Was Convinced to Work with A Non-Star

When Shekhar Kammula narrated the story of ‘Fidaa’ to Dil Raju, he told about it to Allu Arjun. Without Dil Raju’s knowledge, even Mahesh Babu and Ram Charan heard the story which they felt good but it lacked something.

Dil Raju reasons that it is a story which doesn’t suit the stars. It would be hard for a star to sink with Shekar Kammula’s style. The combination of Kammula with a star hero wouldn’t be a cost-effective one opines Dil Raju. Therefore, he convinced Kammula to do the film with Varun Tej and Sai Pallavi.

It’s a known thing that Dil Raju’s judgement has turned valid many times. Dil Raju likes how the director sketches the moments and the characterisations. The producer feels that these things look more impressive than the story in Kammula’s movies, especially in ‘Fidaa’.
