Before Pelli Choopulu it was almost an year ago with films like Baahubali, Srimanthudu and BBM coming in back to back months that became huge blockbusters in overseas. Nannaku Prematho too was a profitable venture although not on the blockbuster level. Others were far from even breaking even.
With the acquiring rates of the biggies from top heroes reaching sky high and the films subsequently coming with poor content, everyone associated with the film all over the chain is losing money. In cases like Janatha Garage which was sold at a lesser price, the distributors are struggling to break even. And this has been an ongoing trend for a very long time with profitable films countable in fingers.
In the coming few weeks, a number of low key but moderately hyped films are coming like Hyper, Premam, and Dhruva etc. Can any of these films be the next one to give big profits? A combination of low price and good content can make it possible. Two of those films fit the bill. The question is can they do it?
