Mohan Babu was a good actor, no doubt, but cashing in on past glory and attempting to play lead again is way out of the actor’s league. Is it really necessary that he play lead at a time when he has young grandchildren at home. This is not to judge the capability of the veteran actor, but his ambition to play lead at his age when he should be ideally picking up strong character roles.
Apparently, he is playing the lead in upcoming Manchu family multi-starrer Pandavulu Pandavulu Tummeda alongside his sons Vishnu and Manoj. Will audience still accept him in such role and shouldn’t he worry about playing such?. But come to think of it, it’s the audience who should make it clear if they want to see him on screen in such roles.
The last time he tried playing lead few years back, the film turned out to be a disaster. I think this is one of the biggest problems with our stars and as Venkatesh pointed out recently that even male actors have a shelf life and they should acknowledge it.
