Should Chaitu have avoided Premam remake?

Naga Chaitanya’s new movie Majnu is going to be officially launched tomorrow. As we all know the film is remake of popular Malayalam movie Premam which brought huge stardom to everyone associated with it.

Remaking a blockbuster or hit film in a language to other usually is not a problem but when it comes to a film like Premam things are different. First it’s the question of casting and then there are the nativity issues. Even with a perfect remake chances of repeating the success too are slim because of the subject at hand.

While the idea to do a love story is right, a film with Gautam Menon that’s already on cards would surely be suffice at this point. Another film on similar lines can be overdose and failure or success, either way, would make hard to move career forward. It is a critical decision and one hopes something positive emerges out of the whole situation.
