Social Media Hit Arriving On OTT

It is not too uncommon for critically acclaimed films to go South at the box office. They get all the critical acclaim in the world but end up as epic disasters at the box office. Here’s one such film – Chup, featuring Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role.

The film was wildly lapped up social media crowd and critics following its theatrical debut. From the media premieres in Mumbai, the film received rave reviews. It was also publicized by the social media crowd. But it wasn’t even noticed at the box office.

The latest news is that Chup will arrive on OTT, two months following its theatrical debut. It will stream on ZEE5 from the 25th of this month.

The film is directed by R Balki and it is billed to be a revenge story of an artist. It has a fairly unique plot but it doesn’t necessarily cater to all sections of the general audience.

Films like these might cater to a section of the OTT audience and it remains to be seen how it fares on ZEE5 as it is set for its OTT premieres in the next 6 days.
